Recently, scientists used a special Japanese space telescope called XRISM. With its very clear observations, they found the answer.
The star has a hidden partner: a white dwarf. This white dwarf is very small but dense. It is pulling in gas from Gamma Cassiopeiae. When the gas falls onto the white dwarf, it gets very hot and creates the strong X-rays.
