They studied Argentine ants, which are a type of invasive ant. When these ants were given sugar water mixed with caffeine, they became much better at finding food. They learned to take direct paths and spent less time traveling to their food source.
In fact, their travel time decreased by almost 40%! It wasn’t that the ants moved faster. Instead, they seemed more focused and learned the best way to get food more quickly.
This discovery is very important. It means that adding caffeine to special ant baits could make pest control much more effective. If ants learn to find the bait faster, it could help get rid of them more efficiently.

💡 핵심 문법: 조건문 (If + 주어 + 동사, 주어 + will/can/could 동사원형)
Example: If ants learn to find the bait faster, it could help get rid of them more efficiently.
